If you have just passed the state board exam, and need to learn skills that weren’t taught in cosmetology school, Hair Pollution offers a Mentor/Assistant program that will teach you the verbal skills, educating clients about products, and retail and inventory skills. We go over the basics of haircutting with all new stylists with the approach that stylists are sculptors where you can learn how to tailor a style that works with skin tone, face shape, hair type and client lifestyle. At the same time the new stylist will learn and practice communication skills and product knowledge to make sure they know how to teach the client how to use products and get the style they want to achieve. Without that communication, your client will become frustrated and move on. So we will help you establish a clientele that can stay with you for years.
This will help you enter the industry with the practical skills and knowledge difficult to establish straight out of school.

Mid-west military brat, raised within the U.S.
Always rebelled against the man, the authority figures....
I was BORN to Create!!!!! (and argue:) sometimes)
Was out in the world on own at early age discovering the craziness of the U.S. and its culture's.
At 16 was hitching around U.S.
But I did end up finishing High School,(because it had been drilled into my head)and then deciding I couldn't afford "ART SCHOOL", I decided that one of the major influences of "PUNK",from its origins of my day, its meaning and style; hair as a job would support my future if I were to attend art school, or what ever the world was going to bring.
I soon found that doing hair was an art form. I do sculptures on peeps heads. Peeps ware sculptures on their heads every day. Its a form of Identity, expression of ones personality.
Later travels threw Europe, Peru, Mexico, Eastern block Croatia, and more, its many cultures have influenced my soul. It's an eye opener, getting out of the U.S. and seeing how other cultures celebrate their differences.
I try not to support to much of the large greedy corp.
Vary much dislike organizations that push their believes or ideals on me. Especially, if they take my rites or others rites away from us being excepted as human beings.
Dislike peeps regurgitating spew of meaningless media.
Love seeing or hearing of peeps achievements, goals, miracles,
self excepting and credit do.
Usual mid-west background, created a VARY strong work ethic.
I work my ass off!!!
And all the stylists that work around me do as well.
As you can see in the pict. of me, the T-Shirt says it all,
REALITY T.V. SUKS!!!!
Actually, most T.V. suks!

Graduated from Phoenix Academy of Beauty in July of 1997. Started an apprenticeship at Taglio salon the day after graduating. I got my chair and "CHEMICAL TECHNICIAN" title in 2000. Chemical technicians are color and chemical specialists. I later found out I really enjoyed cutting/styling and decided to see what other opportunities were waiting outside of SCOTTSDALE. I worked for 3 years at a chain salon that offered perms and cuts. I later went back to Taglio, only to realize that I cannot work or put my heart and efforts into people who are fake, false and superficial. Artistically repressed I had to leave Taglio. My heart was broken for about 6 months and I thought I was not ever going to do hair again.
Lucky Me!
I came across WAY COOL SALON in September of 2005. I can't explain the energy that surfaced just from walking thru the doors. Anyone who has been in the salon knows what I'm saying. Tad is BRILLIANT! He is my hero for introducing such a special place to Phoenix! Working in such a comfortable, openminded atmosphere,
has allowed me to explore my passion for wigs and synthetic hair.
In May of 2006 I began researching tutorials in hair forums
and discovered the art of creating and installing synthetic
dreads. I have recieved much positive exposure from the
dread installs I have done thus far and have networked
extensively thru local bands, local artists, clients and
MySpace! In March of 2007 I began doing natural
dreads, and human hair dread extensions. In August
2008 I went to HAIR POLICE to train in there methods
of extensions & dread locks. I plan on making dreads
excessively prevalent in Phoenix."
